The pictures and description don‘t come close to the reality of this place ... it’s way beyond expectations. A true gem on the island and Tammy was a fantastic host from start to finish ... even proactively coming over in the morning one day after the island experienced a power outage to make sure everything was ok for us. I hope to return soon and, if available, will always choose this place ... highly recommendable!

This is a beautiful home. Wonderful lay-out for 8 adults.The vistas are breathtaking and the home is well appointed in the accommodation of 8 people.. The many decks and patio furniture makes it so inviting to dine and sunbathe while enjoying the picture perfect panoramic view of the ocean and the huge green hills surrounding the house. The "guest house" along side the main house is just beautiful. The only down side , and I believe that this was a matter of perhaps new ownership or new management , was the promise of a guest fruit/cheese basket upon arrival that never materialized.. We found a medium sized bag of tortilla chips and a bottle of salsa in the refrigerator. After traveling since 3:00 o' clock in the morning from Virginia and D.C. by planes. trains, automobile, ferry and taxis.to sit down and grab a quick bite is a welcome treat. The restaurants on the island were just sensational, particularly,La Tapa, ZoZo's,, and Ocean 362.. The beaches are perfect for snorkeling, and swimming. The most incredible blue/green/ water in the world. Don't leave without visiting Trunk Bay. Our most wonderful Christmas present was on our last night on the way to dinner. We witnessed the most sensational double rainbow I have ever seen in my 72 years. The colors were vivid and the very end of the rainbow was literally spread on the green ground. Never have I seen the end of a rainbow. God works these islands! Highly recommend.

We liked everything about the house, but the spacious deck was where we spent the majority of our time when we weren't out exploring the beaches or hiking. We had morning coffee on the deck, ate meals on the deck, played games on the deck and just relaxed.
We also appreciated the beach towels, chairs and cooler so we could go enjoy snorkeling and swimming.
Thank you for letting us enjoy your piece of paradise on earth! It was hard to believe that there is a place with such perfect weather after the winter we'd been experiencing in the mid-west!

We just returned from a week long stay in this beautiful home! It had everything we needed and then some! We were a party of eight ranging from 9 to 70 years young and this home was perfect! Plenty of room to spread out and expansive decks and kitchen/living room to all get together! Also, the view was amazing! It was a short drive to all the groceries/restaurants/shopping in Cruz Bay. Mark was excellent! He picked us up at the dock, took us to our rental car and then up to the house we went! We took full advantage of the grill, multiple decks and pool! With two living rooms, our children could relax downstairs before bed with a favorite TV show while the adults played a game upstairs! Our party of eight could fit comfortably in the pool and it was a great way to cool down in the evenings! We really enjoyed out time at Southern Exposure and can't wait to come back!

Tammy is super easy to deal with when checking in and out. A few quick texts is all it took. Her familiarity with St. John helped us navigate the in and outs of the island. Fish tales is a beautiful open air oasis with a gorgeous view. The property is not be overlooked! We had a fabulous time.

The property was perfect for our family of 4. It's situated a couple of miles outside of town near the top of a hillside between two bays (catches good breezes). While I was initially torn between beach side, in town, or up in the hills, I'm now definitively a fan of the hills away from town.
The property is cottage in feel (the pictures give the idea) and immaculately clean. Our two teenagers stayed downstairs and my husband and I took the master. The deck is huge and wonderful. I was worried the pool would be too small, but it was surprisingly perfect for lounging and it was incredible to come back to after hikes or hitting the beaches. We enjoyed the deck and its view so much that we actually grilled and ate dinner outside most nights (instead of hitting restaurants as would be our usual). The kitchen is well stocked with the stuff you need to cook and its a nice grill on the deck so all you really need to do is set up your provisions. If TV and stereo is important to you, it's set up really nice in that department. WiFi worked great.
For driving to it, while all-wheel drive is a really nice thing to have on St. John's and I'll probably do that next time, but we managed pretty fine with a Sentra. I saw other driveways and a couple roads that we didn't go down where that wouldn't have been the case.
One of the really great things is that it's a short walk to a brief, if somewhat steep hiking trail, that hits one of the natural beaches (stunning)- hiking along the beach ties into the park trail system. A bit tricky to figure out the trail tie ins, but way, way worth it if you like stunning hikes that can stretch on as far/long as you like.
We loved our time at Fish Tales and are planning to come back next year.

Family of 4 stayed here for Carnival week in July. We were met at the car ferry and guided to the house by Dyana who also was a wealth of Island info.
The house was perfect for our family. Great views, quiet and tropical. The deck is huge and has plenty of loungers. The tv and stereo system were great.
The house is well stocked from bath towels to beach gear – the extra snorkel fins were awesome. We would definitely come back again and recommend this house to our friends.

Fish Tales was perfect for our family of 5. The home is comfortable and equipped with everything we needed for our stay on St. John. There was always a beautiful breeze flowing through the house and the view is awesome. The pool is small, but perfect for relaxing on the deck at the end of the day (and even when we had our morning coffee). Dyana met us at the ferry, brought us to get our jeep, and then took us to the house. It was so nice to have her there when we arrived at STJ. Tammy was very responsive and accommodating as well.

My wife and I stayed here for a week in June. We were met at the car ferry and guided to the house. Along the way we received a very good tour of the local stores and points of interest which turned out to be quite useful. The house itself was amazing when we pulled up, the view of Fish's Bay was wonderful and it was very quiet and peaceful. Currently the local utility company is replacing all wooden telephone, so that was a bit noisy during the day, but they were moving quickly, so perhaps 1 or 2 more weeks of daytime noise and they will be gone. The deck was huge and offered plenty of space to relax on. We ate all of our meals out there as well. The tv and stereo system worked well, we listened to a lot of music on the deck.
There was a great breeze that came down the driveway which kept the house cool. We did use the A.C. at night in the bedroom. The house was well stocked with everything we needed for our stay, from bath towels to beach gear. My wife and I both felt we were in a tropical rural area, so it was very quiet, peaceful and scenic. However we were just 15 minutes from Cruz Bay with its shops and restaurants. It was quite easy to go there to grab food or go out to dinner. The drive to the North Shore beaches was quite easy and we took numerous routes to get to the them. We did not do much hiking while we were there as it was a bit too hot for us. We would definitely come back again and recommend this house to our friends.

We recently stayed at Villa Bonita and the house was lovely. As a family of four with two adult children, the two bedrooms off the pool were a perfect escape and provided privacy. Would be great for three couples as well.
As noted in another review, two beach chairs were broken. We purchased an inexpensive camp chair and left for others to use. The beach towels were great and the cooler very useful.
Overall we had a fantastic stay and would recommend to others.

We stayed for 6 days and had a greet time. We loved the fact that the house had afternoon sun and we could enjoy the pool after spending time at the beach.
We used all three rooms but to access everything but the master required you to walk outside by the pool. This was fine for us with our 13 and 18 year old boys but it might be a concern for people with younger children.The third room did not have internet access but the rest of the house did.
The house provided a large cooler on wheels and we used it daily to bring lunch and drinks to the beach.The house provided 3 beach chairs but 2 were broken so we rented 3 chairs for the week. It would have been have better to have working chairs at the house. It looked like someone may have been too heavy and bent the metal on the chairs.
I would rent this house again and recommend renting this house.It would be perfect for 3 couples as well as a family. You will need to rent a vehicle because cabs would be expensive use constantly.

The property itself is beautiful. Well appointed, plush towels, comfortable bedding. The pool was sparkling clean. We cooked quite a bit, and the appliances were perfect. I wish there had been a few extras in the kitchen (ie, salt, dish soap, spices) but it wasn't a deal breaker. We purchased and hopefully they were left for the next guests.
We did have a slight issue with the AC and ceiling fan in one bedroom, but we called and they promptly fixed it the next day.
As a bonus, they also provided us with beach towels and chairs to use for the week, which was a nice perk!
Thanks for a lovely stay...we hope to return again some day!

We loved our stay at this villa. The house is even nicer than the pictures show, and was immaculate in every way. The hosts have thought of everything, and everything in the house felt new and fresh. The living room is lovely and was very comfortable for our group, and the kitchen was gorgeous, with all the drawers organized and clearly labeled so it was very easy to find everything you need. The pool and deck was beautiful and my kids loved swimming every day. The hot tub was great too! The beds were extremely comfortable and the bathrooms were nicer than those at some high end resorts. The villa is on the quiet side of the island, and was very private with beautiful gardens. We did not miss seeing the water with the lovely view, and could walk to a quiet, out of the way beach! On top of all that, Tammy and Jackie were wonderful to work with and extremely attentive to anything we needed. Five stars, and would go back in a heartbeat!!

Our family stayed at Desert Rose (formerly Villa Jumbie) for 2 weeks. We have been to the island 5 times and this villa is the best of them all. The spacious common area inside and outside makes it very comfortable. (A flaw with many villas is that they don't take into account sun exposure or scattered rainstorms and guests end up in cramped interior spaces.) The pool is excellent. The beds very comfortable. The large fully equipped kitchen and gas grill make cooking a snap. Recent landscaping is lovely. The villa is situated at a quiet dead end. The parking platform is shared with only a few goats. If one can handle a few switchbacks, it's an ideal location. The property manager, Tammy Donnelly, is very responsive to all questions and concerns.

Stillwater Villa did not disappoint! My family and I feel in love the moment we opened the door and walked in. It was absolutely gorgeous walking through the villa. It was tastefully decorated with beautiful wood furniture and was very clean. The stunning view of the ocean and Chocolate Hole can be seen from every room. The pool is small but very refreshing after a long day at the beach. My family and I, a total of 5 were very comfortable in the villa and pool. The location is perfect from Cruz Bay restaurants, shopping, and beach’s. I will definitely rent again! Awesome , awesome place! The property manager Bob, was amazing, anything we needed he was there. We arrived late in the evening so I hired a service to pick up my grocery order and stock the fridge for us the day before. Bob had no problem letting them in to get the job done.

My family of five (2 adults and 3 kids ages 5-10yrs) stayed at StillWaters and we had a great week! What a view!! The checkin process was just as expected as was the home. Spacious and clean home for our group. The kids loved the pool and it was clean. A well stocked kitchen and outdoor grill. (The kitchen could use some more dinner plates and new potholders, and the coffee pot could be due for replacing or a good cleaning but it worked fine for us and otherwise it fit our needs very well.) We cooked and grilled several meals during our stay. The bedrooms accommodated our family well and were comfy enough. The kids loved sleeping and hanging out in the second floor loft. (Note: this home’s layout could be tricky for families with toddlers.) I loved the updated decor and linens in the home. Plenty of bath and beach towels. We didn’t have toilet paper or hand soap upon arrival but Bob dropped some off to us the next day. Speaking of Bob, he lives right down the hill, is very nice and was responsive when I had a minor issue with the dryer and needed to reset the Wi-Fi. He was able to help me out all over text to fix the issues quickly. Overall, we had a great stay and we would stay here again!

This property was amazing! The location, the view, the decor, the space were all perfect for a family vacation! I loved being able to get up and “ hang out” on the porch with a beautiful view of the island and the sunsets were tremendous!! My suggestion would be to include a better quality & larger container of shampoo, some lotion(especially after the sun) and body wash! I have stayed at quite a few vrbos that have all three in large containers in the shower/ bath on the wall! Most people bring carry on bags and can only pack 3 oz containers- which is not enough for a week vacation!
